April 6th. Two Suns. Buy it.

I would like to be this band. Please, thank you.

Part of the reason I adore Deerhunter, is their accessibility and openness as a band. They make music feel palpable. This EP gives a lot of insight into their songwriting process, particularly the contributions Bradford Cox, and is worthy of multiple listens. Not to mention, the title track HAUNTS ME. And it’s free and available for download from their blog. (Click on image.)

my new (blog) life

I’ve decided to switch to Tumblr after a long-standing affair with the blogging platform Wordpress.

Why, may you ask?

Well, after working diligently on the blogs of others, and looking at the WP interface for hours on end, I wanted to try something new. So this is it.

Hello, Tumblr.

Meanwhile, I am drinking my first cup of tea of the day, listening to Bon Iver’s Blood Bank EP, and trying to figure out what I want to do with myself for the next however-many years. Yesterday, I read, I slept, I tried to write songs, I moped.

When I got into my car this morning, I wanted to be getting on the subway in Brooklyn. Pretty soon, I will be walking circles around the building where I work, avoiding eye contact and desiring nothing but noise, lightness, and the feeling that everything is significant.
